Creating a scheduled item

Clicking the "Add Item" button at the top right of the calendar page will open a slideout panel where you can create a new schedule item. You can give it a name, select its type, set the date and time, and set whether the item is one-time or recurring. If you select recurring, and additional sections will appear for configuring the reccurence rules.

Recurring items

In many cases, you will want your schedule items to recurr on a regular schedule. For example, you may want to schedule a grow room inspection Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3pm, or schedule a monthly business meeting for your farm on the third Wednesday of each month. Kinoko's scheduling system provides a great deal of control and flexibility in defining these reccurence patterns.

Recurring items can have one of six different frequency types:

  • Daily items are the simplest. A daily item will recur every x days according to the interval you set.
  • Weekly items are the most common. You can set the interval on a weekly item to recur every week or every x weeks, and select specific days of the week for these occurrences. For example, you could set an item to recur every other week on Wednesday and Friday.
  • Monthly (by day) allows you to set an interval (for example every other month or every third month) and schedule occurences on specific weekdays for that month (such the third Tuesday of the month, or the second and fourth Fridays).
  • Monthly (by date) works simlilarly to Monthly (by day), but instead of setting your occurences on specific weekdays you instead set specific dates (for example, every month on the 12th and 24th).
  • Yearly (by day) sets the interval in years, and schedules the occurences for specific weekdays (such as third Monday, fourth Wednesday, etc.).
  • Yearly (by date) also sets the interval in years, and allows you to select specific months and dates for your occurrences (for example, every year on the 15th of January and the 22nd of August).

Finally, you can select whether the occurrences should repeat forever, repeat a set number of times, or repeat until a set date.
